The Scottish housing market has performed better than northern regions of England in the year to September 2006 (8.3% according to Halifax) and there has been an increase in housing completions. Although we have been concerned about some oversupply and price cutting in the Greater Glasgow area, our view is that rental demand should remain positive and this should underpin the market in the next 12 months or so.
