Do

  • Buy within easy distance to public transport links or major road networks
  • Buy on the edge of a village
  • Buy in the town centre or on the edge of town
  • Buy in the city centre
  • Buy something with a waterfront view
  • Buy close to a golf course
  • Buy close to local amenities
  • Buy in a property ‘hot spot’ or area of regeneration

Don’t:

  • Buy anything remote, you will be excluding a majority of your market
  • Buy next to a sports ground
  • Buy next to a busy road
  • Buy close to a railway line
  • Buy under a major flight path
  • Buy an apartment on a higher floor when there is no lift available
  • Buy a property with poorly maintained communal areas
  • Buy next to a sewage works, milk depot, car garage or milk depot!
  • Buy in a flood risk area
  • Buy next to a pub or busy restaurant
